The overall objective of the study is to provide a comprehensive and prioritized action plan explicitly indicating the short-, medium-, and longer-term transport and energy investment needs; resource and other requirements; and options for mobilizing these resources. The study will guide the implementation of Rwanda’s strategic transport and energy infrastructure development programme by providing a roadmap to inform investments in these sectors; quantifying the required financial and other resources; and recommending options for mobilizing these resources. The seminar will facilitate debate on infrastructure development and financing, as well as its contribution to regional integration not only in Rwanda but also in the EAC and the great lakes regions. In particular, areas for additional research and further collaboration with other partners will be identified thus increasing the Bank’s contribution to harmonization and coordination of development assistance. Moreover, the study will enhance the Bank’s and Canada’s visibility in Rwanda and the region, and contribute to the Bank’s quest to become a ‘Knowledge Bank’. Approved: CAD 213,078 (Disbursed: nil).
