The Project aims to help to cover procurement gaps that Tunisia identified through the evaluation of its procurement system supported by the AfDB. Some initial actions have been initiated so far. However this trend needs to be amplified to impact positively things. The Project will Enhance professional capacity in procurement through training and certification of public officials; and Share good practices with other Arab countries in transition and OECD Members. The Project is expected to span a period of 36 months and is divided into four substantive components i) Increase efficiency of the procurement processing and streamline the information system; ii) Capacity building and strengthening of procurement workforce; iii) Knowledge development and dissemination; iv) Project Management.
The objective of the project is to support the implementation of Tunisia's public procurement reform action plan and to strengthen the professional capacity in the markets through the training and certification of public officials.
The main beneficiary of the project is the Government of Tunisia.
