Project Objectives

The objective of this initiative is to organize a series of gender balanced training seminars in order to strengthen the capacity in RMCs and the Bank on debt management issues. This is part of ORMU’s existing work programme and the first debt management training course was already organized in September 2011. This proposal is enabling ORMU to expand and deepen the existing training programme on debt management by organize training seminars for two groups of RMCs, which are respectively: (i) low-income RMCs that are seeking to gain access to additional non-concessional financial resources and HIPC Completion Point countries; and (ii) debt management capacity for RMCs in special situations and arrears (Sudan and Zimbabwe). Expected Result: Improve public expenditure, macroeconomic management, fiscal and debt policy. Approved: CAD 77,130 (Disbursed: nil).
