Project Objectives

This concept note was submitted to the Canadian Trust Fund as part of an ongoing project which started in April 2011. The primary objective is to understand the impact of trade on women’s employment and wages, which is consistent with the CTF thematic area on gender mainstreaming. It is also consistent with the regional integration thematic area which is both a priority for the Bank and to Canada. As the main portion of the study had been completed by the time the formal request was submitted to Canada, the amount approved will be utilised to fund the services of an Editorial Consultant and publication of a book which will capture the results of the study and ease dissemination to RMCs. This will be finalized and disseminated in 2012. Approved: CAD 22,855 (Disbursed: nil).
