The objective of this proposal is to adopt innovative activities in accompanying North African countries in their reform processes, in particular strengthening governance, develop regional public goods, promote mutual learning across the region, and enable the African Development Bank (AfDB) to play its role as a “Solutions Bank”. Such proposal is justified by the ongoing popular demand for change, accountability, transparency and inclusiveness from people of MENA region.
The subject of this proposal is a joint organization with the World Bank of the Public Financial Management (PFM) Exchange Event, in Abu Dhabi, 13 to 15 May, 2013 and financing of the hosting expenses for the benefit of North-African delegates.
The PFM Exchange Event is one of four components of Connecting Voices (CV) MENA, a regional initiative and partnership that promotes governance and private sector development through improved financial management practices in the public and private sectors.
The Exchange will be devoted to Building Partnerships among Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Media and the Public Financial Management (PFM) agenda in general. It will begin with a series of VC and other non-face-to-face activities culminating in a 3 days face-to-face Event.
