The present intervention concerns the Institutional Support Project for the Ministries of Finance, Planning and Economic Restructuring. It’s part of a series of actions to support economic and social development. It is also necessary and should help the Government to improve the country's technical and administrative capacity for economic management. In the long term, the project should help to rationalize and improve the efficiency of economic and social development programmes and projects, in particular Public Investment Programmes (PIPs) and to improve the system and procedures for handling public debt. In addition, it offers the opportunity to complete the level of training of managers. The project has three components, namely: (A) the provision of technical assistance, (B) the training of staff, (C) the provision of equipment, (D) the operation, (E) the rehabilitation and fitting out of business premises and (F) the preparation of tender documents for the rehabilitation of premises.
The objective of the project is to improve the Government's effectiveness in managing the national economy.
The project should benefit the Ministries of Finance, Planning and Economic Restructuring and the Burundian State.
