The project concerns the development of the remaining section on the Batshamba and Tshikapa axis, between Lovua and Tshikapa (56 km), on National Road 1 (RN1), including the construction of a new bridge over the Kasai River. It complete the previous interventions of the African Development Bank Group along the same axis: (i) between Nsele-Lufimi (93 + 850 km) and Kwango-Kenge (70 + 34 km), through a donation of 52, 45 MUC and whose works have been completed since 2011; and (ii) between Loange and Lovua (63 km) through an ADF grant of 53.55 MUC approved in 2012.
The sectoral objective is to contribute to the opening up of the provinces of Bandundu and Kasaï Occidental. Its specific objective is to improve the level of service of the transport logistics chain on the Kinshasa-Tshikapa road as well as the living conditions of the populations in the project area.
The direct beneficiaries of the project are the transport users as well as the populations living in its zone of influence (City of Kinshasa, Provinces of Bandundu, Kasaï Oriental and Kasaï Occidental).
