The project consists to support the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the creation and operational implementation of a specific Authority dedicated to the development of the site of Inga called "Inga Development and Promotion Agency" (ADEPI). The establishment of the ADEPI is one of the results of the ongoing dialogue between the African Development Bank Group and the DRC government for the optimal realization of the Grand INGA hydroelectric project for the revitalization of the energy sector in the DRC, which is setting this project in the context of the New Deal for universal access to energy by 2025 in Africa.
The general objective is to accelerate the implementation of the Grand INGA hydroelectric project through assistance to the Congolese Government in setting up an autonomous development organization - the Inga Development and Promotion Agency ( ADEPI) - to manage and monitor the development of Inga, to encourage the participation of the private sector and to mobilize public funding.
The main beneficiary of the project is the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
