This Project is designed to support promote access to employment, the socio-professional integration of young people and the financial inclusion of young women. It’s an operation initiated to provide support to the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo in its efforts in these areas. This project is part of the dynamics of the first peaceful alternation at the top of the State where employment, socio-professional integration of young people and financial inclusion of young women have been set among the country's major priorities through the establishment of the Integrated Emergency Programme for Community Development (PUIDC). This project therefore aims to contribute to the capacity building of State institutions likely to significantly accelerate the improvement of the conditions of access to employment and the socio-professional integration of young people and the financial inclusion of young women. The project will focus on: (i) support for the establishment of innovative mechanisms likely to accelerate the improvement of conditions for job creation and socio-professional integration opportunities for youth as well as the financial inclusion of young women at the bottom of the social pyramid and (ii) support for capacity building of institutions implementing the PUIDC.
The main objective of the project is to contribute to strengthening the resilience of the DRC by helping the country to set up a local development mechanism/instrument based on integrated community-based approaches, the implementation of which should help to speed up the improvement of the living conditions of the population and ensure the creation of decent mass employment as well as sustainable socio-professional integration opportunities for young people. The project also aims at empowering young women and increasing their participation in economic activities. The specific objectives are to (i) strengthen the capacities of the National Fund for Promotion and Social Service (FNPSS) and the Specialized Service within the Office of the Head of State in charge of PUIDC and (ii) improve access to financing for young women and thus contribute to the improvement of their financial inclusion.
The beneficiaries of the project are the State of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the National Fund for Promotion and Social Service (FNPSS), young people who will benefit from socio-professional integration as well as young women.
