This intervention relates to the Support Project for the National Civil Aviation Authority. It was designed to remedy the dysfunctions and relaunch Central African air transport. The main expected results of this project are: (i) Regulations, procedure manuals and other indicative elements are available in safety and security; (ii) ANAC is organised in accordance with ICAO standards and recommended practices; (iii) ANAC-RCA technical staff are trained; (iv) Bangui International Airport is certified; (iv) the quality of Bangui/Mpoko airport services (passenger check-in, police, customs and sanitary controls) are improved. The intervention includes the following three components: (i) support for capacity building of ANAC-RCA, (ii) support for the improvement of airport service delivery capacities, (iii) coordination and monitoring-evaluation of project activities.
The main objective of the project is to contribute to the improvement of the competitiveness of the Central African economy through the development of air transport. Specifically, the project aims to (i) Strengthen the technical and administrative capacities of ANAC-RCA and (ii) Improve the quality and capacity of airport services related to passenger check-in, police and customs control and sanitary control.
The project benefits the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) - CAR, the Central African authorities and ultimately the passengers.
