The Air Côte d'Ivoire Modernization and Expansion Program was designed to develop the air transport sector in West and Central Africa. This project aims to improve national/regional connectivity and support the Abidjan aviation hub concept. It also address the human capital deficit in the aviation sector by supporting the training of pilots and aviation technicians while facilitating a business plan to establish a regional aviation training center of excellence, at INP-HB, Yamoussoukro. The ultimate goal is to promote regional / national economic integration and trade through the modernization, expansion and strengthening of ACI's ability to implement its 10-year growth strategy (2017 - 26). The implementation of this project should promote job creation, trade, tourism, and private sector development. The total Project cost, net of taxes and customs duties, including financial contingencies, is EUR 252.973million or UA 210.734 million or CFA 165,938.682 million. It includes the following main components: financing of the technical assistance program and the partial risk guarantee (GRP) of the ADF.
The overall objective of the project is to boost national/regional economic growth and integration by developing the aviation sector in West and Central Africa.
The program will benefit district populations through trade and tourism facilitated by Air Côte d'Ivoire's air connectivity services. These include i) Abidjan District, ii) Denguélé District, iii) Savanes District, iv) Montagnes District, v) Vallée du Bandama and vi) Bas-Sassandra.
