The Regional Socio-Economic Infrastructure Building and Economic Activity Promotion Support Project (PARISER) was designed to improving the living conditions of the population, promote and consolidate socio-economic development in the five targeted regions. These regions are Arta, Ali Sabieh, Dikhil, Tadjourah and Obock. The PARISER consolidates also the achievements of the urban poverty reduction projects in Djibouti (PREPUD and PREPUD II), financed by the African Development Bank. The project is organized around the three components and subcomponents. These are: Component 1-Infrastructures (road works, connection to water and electricity networks, socioeconomic equipment construction- training center for women, markets, bus station, livestock park, shops, etc.); component 2 - capacity building (institutional support, technical assistance, training of young people and women, professional development of economic actors and entrepreneurs, awareness raising campaigns on gender equality, family planning, gender-based violence and against female genital mutilation, etc.); Component 3-project management (coordination, project management, acquisitions, monitoring-evaluation, etc.).
The PARISER aims to improve the living conditions of the population, to promote and consolidate socio-economic development in the five targeted regions, and in the medium term to reduce the gaps between the regions and Djibouti-town through improved access to infrastructure basic.
The beneficiaries of the project are the populations of the targeted regions, including: Arta, Ali Sabieh, Dikhil, Tadjourah and Obock. However, the impacts and effects of the project will be felt throughout the country.
