The proposed project aims at providing Algeria with a grant of UA 398,000, financed from the resources of the Technical Assistance Fund for Middle Income Countries (MIC-TAF), to support the organization of the African Investment and Business Forum (AIBF). This support is in response to a request made to the Bank by the Algerian authorities in August 2016. It aims at supporting the Algerian authorities' efforts to organize the AIBF which is an important event with a continental scope and whose main objective is to promote trade and economic partnership among African countries and to promote Algeria as an investment destination and business partner. The project has two components, namely: (i) Knowledge sharing and provision of networking workspaces; (ii) Conference logistics. This operation will be implemented over a period of six (6) months from the date of grant approval.
Within the framework of this project, the Bank intends to support the Algerian authorities in the organisation of this important event with a continental scope and to mark its commitment to support the country's new growth and economic development model.
The main beneficiaries of this assistance are the Algerian authorities.
