The Project to Support the Development of Small and Medium sized Enterprises (PAD-SMES) is part of the strengthening of policies and tools for the promotion of SMEs in Algeria. It is intended to improve the supporting measures to promote SMEs development, and strengthen the dialogue between the public and private sectors. The planned intervention of this project is to assist the three (3) main national structures in charge of the SMEs promotion, coaching and follow-up in the strengthening of their capacities. The three agencies concerned are: The General Administration Office of SMEs (DGPME), the National Agency for the Development of SMEs (ANDPME) and the National Advisory Council for the Promotion of SMEs (CNCPME).
The general objective of the PAD-SME project is to contribute to the modernization and development of the small and medium-sized enterprises sector in Algeria, through:(i) the strengthening of policies and tools of their promotion, (ii) the improvement of the supporting measures put in place for their development and (iii) the strengthening of the dialogue between the public and private sectors.
The main beneficiaries of the Project are: (i) the Algerian population as a whole, particularly young people and women, as well as Algerians in the diaspora, who will benefit from increased opportunities to create jobs in the private sector, (i) the Algerian population as a whole, particularly young people and women, as well as Algerians in the diaspora, who will benefit from more opportunities to create jobs in the private sector, particularly in sectors with high added value for growth; (ii) Algerian companies and project initiators who will benefit from facilitated procedures to develop their activities or launch their projects; and (iii) the public administration structures in charge of promoting the private sector which will see their capacities strengthened.
