The present project relates to the El Kureimat Power. This project consists of the supply and installation of two 600 MW dual fired (natural gas fuel/ oil) steam units units in a new power station located on the east bank of the River Nile approximately 95 km south of Cairo at Kureimat village. It comprises the following components: A) structural piling; B) civil works; C) structural steel; D) pumps and drivers; E) Feedwater Heaters, Deaerator & Condenser; F) Water & Waste Treatment Systems; G) Turbine/Generator Erected; H) Boiler, Erected; I) Piping, Valves & Miscellaneous Equipment; J) Instruments & Controls; K) Electrical Distributon Equipment; L) Switchyard; M) Yard Tanks; N) Architect/Engineer Services; O) Colony; P) UPS Interconnection; Q) Wrapup Insurance; R) Simulator Training; and S) Gas Transportation (Pipeline).
The basic objectives of the project are (i) to provide electric power supply to the unified power systen by installing 2 x 600 MW gas/oil fired units thus increasing generating capacity to meet the demand of the whole grid in the late 1995 (ii) to promote rational investment and consumption decisions throughout the econony.
The final beneficiaries of the project are the Egyptian populations.
