Project General Description

The present intervention is related to the pre-feasibility study for the exploitation of Bikilal phosohate and associates mineral ore deposits. It aims to assess the quantity and quality of phosphate and associated ore deposits in the Bilikal area and to determine the techno-economic pre-feasibility of the commercial exploitation of the ore. The project also encompasses the assessment of iron ore, titanium and vanadium mineralisations besides the phosphate ore. The main components of the study are: (a) a review of all available information on the Bikilal phosphate and associated ore mineralization, (b) completion of all the required exploratory drilling, logging, essaying, interpretation and calculations, (c) establishing the ore continuity, grade distribution and configuration of the deposits and calculating the reserves, (d) determining the type and quantity of representative samples for tests, (e) study of mining methods and identification of mining machinery and equipment required, (f) selection of the most appropriate process technology, (g) assessment of the market for the products of the complex, (h) Investigating various location and site for the complex and identifying the Infrastructure requirements, (i) Environmental Impact Assessment Study and (j) Financial and Economic Analysis.

Project Objectives

The overall objective of the study is to assess the quantity and quality of phosphate and associated ore deposits in the Bilikal area and to determine the techno-economic pre-feasibility of the commercial exploitation of the ore. The specific objective of the study is to determine the feasibility of the ore deposit and possibility of carrying out a subsequent detailed final techno-economic feasibility study.
