The main objectives of the project are : i) to provide reliable electric power to the inhabitants of the region so that their electricity requirement for, service activities and cottage and medium scale industries could be met; and ii) to provide the area with relatively cheap and renewable hydroelectric energy which will replace fuel wood thereby helping the region to halt the environmental degradation presently in progress.
