The present intervention concerns the Institutional Support Project for Capacity Building. It aims to strengthen the government’s economic management capacity, thereby contributing to poverty alleviation. The project is also expected to help guide the economy to a sustainable growth path by rectifying institutional weaknesses that hinder the smooth and effective implementation of government/donor-funded projects in The Gambia. The principal components of the project comprises the following: i) Project Management Capacity Building: ii) Aid and Debt Management Capacity Building; iii) RIFT Training Program; and iv) Project Implementation.
The project objectives comprises the following: i) strengthening capacity in the Department of State for Economic Affairs (DESFEA) and other related departments of state in the areas of project appraisal, management and monitoring and loan and debt management; and ii) increasing the proportion of female teachers in the workforce.
The beneficiaries of the project are female teachers in the workforce, Department of State for Economic Affairs (DESFEA) and other related departments of state in the areas of project appraisal, management and monitoring and loan and debt management.
