Project Objectives

The primary objective of the request is to assist GOK in restoring the level of services at JKIA which has dramatically deteriorated following the fire accident. JKIA's status as a regional aviation and economic hub of East Africa will be undermined by such situations as passenger inconveniences, inefficient operations and congestion. The Bank's support, in addition to restoring the service level, will also help to bridge the capacity gap until the expansion projects are completed in 2017.
