The present project relates to the airport rehabilitation in Morocco. It aims at upgrading the airport infrastructure and air navigation safety of Morocco's flight information region. The project is designed for reasons related to: a) the advanced state of obsolescence, the obsolescence and the heterogeneity of almost all the equipment, b) the absence of automatic information service of the terminal area at major airports in the country), c) the absence or obsolescence of the security phone at airports; d) the lack or inadequacy of markup; and e) the lack of control bays to maintain radio areas. The project includes: (i) an equipment component with six (06) subcomponents; (ii) a civil works component comprising two (02) subcomponents; (iii) an education and training component involving two (02) sub-components and (iv) a coordination component.
The project aims to (i) improve and guarantee the safety of air navigation within Morocco's flight information region, (ii) adapt airport infrastructure, at the country, the needs of current and forecast traffic and optimize the exploitation of existing infrastructures, (iii) permanently establish the structure and organization of the National Office of Airports (ONDA).
The main beneficiaries of the project are: the Moroccan Government, economic operators and individuals throughout the Moroccan territory.
