The present intervention concerns the Renewal of Electricity Transmission and Supply Networks Project. The project aims to improve electricity supply conditions in terms of continuity and quality of service of the transmission and distribution networks in the Northwest, Central, Tensift and South regions. This is in order to adapt them to the new load and reliability constraints by reducing, from 2000, the average annual shutdown time (from 67 h/year in 1996 to 10 h/year in 2000) and technical losses (from 10.8% in 1986 to 6 to 7% in 2000) and by strengthening the safety of network equipment and people. The project comprises five main components, namely: (A) 60 kV lines; (B) 60 kV Sub-stations; (C) passage in 225 kV of three (3) 150 kV feeders; (D) Improvement of protection in the VHV/HV and (E) Engineering studies and works supervision.
The project aims at contributing to meet, under reliable conditions, the country’s growing electricity requirement by improving the quality of service one ONE’s transmission and supply networks and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply.
The main beneficiaries of the project are the inhabitants of the North west, Center, Tensift and South Regions of Morocco.
