This credit line is intended to finance the direct and indirect foreign exchange costs of the various PMI sub-projects in the intervention sectors of the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE). BNDE is the link between the Government and investors, having regard to the orientations expressed by the government. This line of credit will finance SMIs whose principal characteristics is to earn or save foreign exchange; these projects will involve new creations, the extension of restructuring of viable and soundly managed entreprises, so as to enable them to be competitive within the context of the on-going liberalization measures.
The purpose of the fifth line of credit is to help in restoring the equilibrium of the balance of payments which the Moroccan Government is carrying out as part of its structural adjustment policy in conjunction with the rescheduling of its external debt.
The beneficiaries of the project are: BNDE, SMIs and the Moroccan Government.
