The Project to support the improvement of the business climate and recovery is a technical assistance project, which is part of the Bank's ongoing dialogue with the Kingdom of Morocco (notably within the framework of the Compact with Africa). It was designed before the outbreak of the pandemic and could not have an impact on the recovery of the economy and the improvement of the business climate, and therefore could not be conclusive in helping to cushion the effects of a complex crisis. Thus, this restructuring has a twofold objective: (i) to refocus the project's activities on supporting the services of the Head of Government, which are at the forefront of the implementation of the government's program; (ii) to redirect the initial activities intended exclusively to support the National Business Environment Committee (CNEA) to activities that take into account the effects of the Covid-19-induced crisis. The main components of the project are: (1) support to the Pole in charge of the business climate and (2) support to reforms.
The objective of the project is to contribute to the improvement of the business environment in Morocco through the implementation of a national strategy in this area.
The main beneficiary of the project is the Moroccan population.
