Project General Description

The present intervention concerns the Second Structural Adjustment Programme. This programme aims to create the conditions for strong growth and sustainable and equitable development through the implementation of economic and social reforms. This programme is designed to consolidate public finances and lay the foundations for sustainable economic growth through private sector development and the creation of income-generating jobs. The central element of the programme is the improvement of economic management through measures to improve public financial management and strengthen public administration. The main components of the program are: (i) improving public financial management; (ii) strengthening public administration; and (iii) promoting the private sector.

Project Objectives

The objective of the programme is to create the conditions for strong and sustainable growth in order to effectively fight poverty. More specifically, it aims to support the Government's efforts to: (i) strengthening measures in the field of public finance; (ii) strengthening public administration and (iii) promoting private investment.

Beneficiaries

The main beneficiary of the programme is the Government of Madagascar.
