The project to support the development of a National Human Resources Plan for Economic Growth in Namibia is designed to meet the need for better planning of the supply and demand of human resources in the country. It is intended to support economic and social development and enhance Namibia's competitiveness. Project implementation is planned over a period of 12 months, from September 2009 to August 2010. The total cost is estimated at UA 2.08 million (NAD 26.42 million, excluding taxes and customs duties). The project has two components: the first component relates to the Skills Needs Assessment and the Human Resources Plan, while the second concerns the strengthening of institutional capacity and development of human resources.
The objective of the project is to assist the Government of the Republic of Namibia (GRN) in developing a human resources plan to institutionalize the supply and demand of human resources and to establish a monitoring and evaluation system.
The direct beneficiary of the support is the Namibian Government. Indirect beneficiaries are the populations.
