This intervention is designed as a solidarity approach to provide emergency assistance to improve the living conditions and livelihoods of people affected by the 2020 floods in Niger. It complements ongoing interventions by the Government and other technical and financial partners. The immediate implementation of the project will help the people of Niger, who have been affected by the conditions created by the floods. Above all, it will help provide the affected people with basic necessities. The emergency aid will initially make it possible to limit the harmful effects of the floods. The project will consist of three (3) components, namely (i) food support, (ii) non-food kits and (iii) audit.
The main objective of the proposed operation is to provide emergency aid to households affected by the 2020 floods. Its specific objective is to help improve the basic living conditions of people affected by the floods through food and non-food assistance.
The main beneficiaries of the intervention are the populations affected by the floods. In addition, special attention will be given to female-headed households and people living with disabilities, due to their vulnerability.
