The Technical Assistance to Skills Development in the Energy Sector Project is initiated by the Government of Rwanda to increase the competitiveness and productivity of public and private companies operating in the energy sector through the provision of employable and skilled human capital. This Government has negotiated with the African Development Bank (AfDB) through the Fund for Private Sector Assistance (FAPA) a grant of $ 800,000 to support the project. This project includes the following components: (i) Curricula Development; and (ii) Project management and coordination.
The principal objectives of this project are: (i) Support part of the costs of curricula development and delivery for post technical and vocational education and training for students and employees in hydro-power and geothermal energy sources; (ii) Provide, through the curricula, the design of skills development required, matching employers’ needs in order to reduce the mismatch between the supply by skills providers and demand from the Rwandan labor market in the energy sector.
The beneficiaries of this project are the Rwandan government, public and private companies operating in the energy sector.
