Project General Description

The Volo trust information and credit bureau pilot project aims to facilitate financial inclusion and improve the efficiency of financial markets in Senegal by piloting an innovative technology-based solution for collecting, storing and disseminating credit information on MSMEs to prospective creditors. VoLo is a privately-owned company registered in Senegal and Gambia that seeks to improve financial inclusion and reduce poverty through the establishment of Credit Reference Service Providers (CRSPs) that use the company. The ultimate outcome of the project will be the production of a robust dataset (a) supporting a commercially viable business plan for the establishment of a credit reference information provider in both countries; and (b) identifying and measuring the development impact of the VoLo.
