The study on the implementation of the National Transport Master Plan (Pdnt) by 2040 aims to make a diagnosis of the sector before the implementation of a plan to promote its development, especially since the last study was carried out in 2004. The project consists of four phases, namely the diagnosis of the current situation, which will cover the entire transport sector. In addition, the 2004 National Transportation Master Plan is to be evaluated and compared with actual achievements to 2015. The second phase involves collecting data (transport demand forecasting and analysis of international best practices) in order to obtain forecasts by 2040, in addition to developing transport surveys. The objective of the third phase is to identify development scenarios based on good practices adopted by comparable countries. The fourth stage concerns the development of the national transport master plan and the action plan, which will include infrastructure, equipment, institutional and organisational aspects, training and human resources.
The objective of the study is to provide a medium- to long-term vision and a clear strategic plan to consolidate and develop infrastructure, equipment and services.
The beneficiary of the project is the Tunisian Government and the population of the country as a whole.
