This intervention concerns the Technical Assistance for Agricultural Transformation in Countries in Transition. It is designed to support capacity development of the private sector and other relevant institutions. The project comprises three main components namely: (1) Creation of Enabling Environment (EE), (2) Establishment of Regional Technology Delivery Infrastructure (RTDI), (3) Deployment of Appropriate Agricultural Technologies (DAT), (4) Project Management and Coordination (PM&C).
The principal objective of the project is to support capacity development of the private sector and other relevant institutions to catalyse large-scale increases in agricultural productivity and commodity production.
The main beneficiaries of the project are 22 countries – Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Togo and Zimbabwe.
