Project General Description

The Uganda –Tanzania (Masaka-Mutukula-Kyaka-Bugene-Kasulo-Kumunazi) roads project is the main project which will permit linking Uganda and Tanzania. To finance this project preparation, the African Development Bank, the East Africa Regional Resource Centre (EARC), and the East African Community (EAC) have signed a financing agreement of $1.2 million. The project covers 89.5 kilometers of the Masaka to Mutukula road section in Uganda, a section of 30 kilometers from Mutukula to Kyaka linking to another section of 133 kilometers from Bugene to Kasulo to Kumunazi in Tanzania.

Beneficiaries

The ultimate beneficiaries of the project are the populations of the two countries and the subregion in general, and the road users.
