Project General Description

The Youth and Tourism Promotion Project (YTEP) is designed to expand young people's access to employment and finance to promote entrepreneurship and the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a particular focus on tourism. More specifically, the operation should build the capacity of key ministries and key stakeholders working to promote youth employment. In addition, it will contribute to the implementation of the Bank's 2013-2022 Strategy, supporting skills development, private sector development, gender equality and fragile state development. The total cost of the project is estimated at UA 3.02 million. Its components are as follows; (i) upgrading youth skills and improving their access to information and finance (UA 0.9 million); (ii) creating an environment conducive to the development of tourism and youth enterprises; and (iii) support for project management.

Project Objectives

The objective of the project is to contribute to the reduction of poverty and youth unemployment, by creating a more conducive environment for the promotion of youth and tourism.
